The Pact has been voided!

Well, if you've have known Em and I for very long you know about our pact we made for our family when we got married...WE WILL NEVER OWN AND DRIVE A MINIVAN! Well the pact is now obsolete. Finance and space issues have beat out style, power, trend, and coolness. We got a minivan. This goes against everything we believe, but now that we have it, we kinda like it. Call them what you want ("Mom Mobile", "Mormon Motorhome", "Turd Taxi", "Kiddie Cart", or "Wiggle Wagon") minivans are convenient, affordable, and efficient. We do have to love how easy it is to get the kids in and out of, and we don't have to take Jordyn's wheelchair apart anymore (it fits in the back fully assembled YES!!!). Evan is mesmerized by the power sliding door that opens "magically" anytime we reach our destination. We were somewhat forced into getting a new vehicle this weekend, it has been in the plans due to the growing family (our car would not fit three car seats) but due to the car falling apart and breaking down this week it expedited the process. Of course, we first looked at SUV's, but for the money you can't get anything less than 10 yrs old and with less than 100's of thousands of miles for a decent price (by decent I mean something that fits in our budget). So the next time you see us pull up in the van, if you would, make us feel a little better by referring to it as our "Family Ferrari" instead of the "Loser Cruiser" that would be nice...Thanks!

Since we have moved to Boise, we are always trying to guess if people are mormon. When we think they are (if they drive a van, have lots of kids, wear shorts to their knees, or just look mormonish) we say "mormon alert, mormon alert"..... I guess people will be saying that about us now!

posers, that looks almost exactly like our van (2003 Town and Country). The only thing different is the black bumperthing running along the bottom on the sides. Ours is the same gold color whereas yours is black. Face it, you want to be us.

Yeah, you guys are dorks now.

Don't even try comparing our van to yours. Ours doesn't even have a technologically advanced VCR system in it. That is a little to uppity for our taste.

I just...just don't even know what to say.

Well... at least SOME of us will never have to drive a minivan!

Yeah I guess you're right Maria, if you're only going to have two children you won't be needing a minivan. Is that what you meant? =)

I know what Susie wants to say..."I want a gold mini van, TOO!"

And although Maria will probably never own a mini van, she has RIDDEN in ours AND SHE LIKED IT. I could tell by the sparkle in her eye and the spring in her step.

Ok, everyone has to stop commenting so much on Tom's blog. Whenever he gets a lot of comments he won't quit talking about how he has SOO many comments. And that he has the most anyone has ever gotten... bla bla bla.
I know, now I have added to the number of comments. Now his head will get even bigger.

Aunty Em, you have to think about this. Since Tom has only posted like five times since January, if you average out the number of comments, it's like he's only getting one or two comments per post.

Hey, Tom, you owe me three comments.

If Tom doesn't make another blog post soon, we're all going to stop looking, let alone commenting!

I always knew you were a minivan mormon family. You faked me out pretty well when you lived up here. Tom, now you owe me $50 for losing our bet that you would buy a minivan. You should have gone straight for the 15 passenger van.

p.s. Sorry for giving Tom some comments Emily. I just feel bad for the guy, moving to Boise, buying a minivan, and now owing me $50. I think he is having a midlife crisis.

p.p.s. Evan, Kyla says "Hi"
